OLIVE OIL

The extra virgin olive oil used to make Malina Castile Soap is harvested in the most recent year, is ultra-high in polyphenols and offers superb medicinal qualities. Extra virgin olive oil has been used topically for centuries to relieve every day skin ailments. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging properties because it is packed with antioxidants and vitamins. It hydrates the skin by building the skin’s moisture barrier to prevent loss of moisture. Abundant in vitamin K, vitamin E, and polyphenols, olive oil protects against free radicals which damage the skin.

SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Making soap requires sodium hydroxide (lye), water, and oil to start the chemical process of saponification. While a fair amount of lye may be used to create the soap, a properly finished product doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide anymore.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
Lavender essential oil is rich in antioxidants that nourish your skin and protect it from environmental toxins and pollutants, ultimately aiding in preventing cellular damage, uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation. Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of lavender essential oil make it a common remedy used to speed up healing of wounds, cuts, burns, sunburns, and bug bites, as well as to treat acne, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. In addition to soothing inflammation, lavender oil is known for its calming benefits— it effectively reduces redness and skin irritation. Lavender essential oil has also been shown to regenerate skin cells, which makes it great for restoring bright skin tone, reducing sun spots and removing scarring. Lavender essential oil is used in aromatherapy to improve mood and promote relaxation.

Before you start using this bar, store it in a cool dry place out of direct light.

Wet your skin, work the soap into a lather and apply it to your body. Gently massage it into your skin with a circular motion for about 30 seconds and rinse.

Place on a draining soap dish after every use.
